McMaster ensembles: Make music your forté!

Did you know that almost 250 McMaster Students perform in our ensembles every year? Students, faculty and visiting artists in the School of the Arts offer more than 30 performances throughout the year, from solo recitals to full theatre productions to ensemble concerts.” Ensembles best exemplify Music at the School of the Arts. Through cooperation, passion, diversity and collaborative music-making, the ensembles provide students across campus with an abundance of opportunities to share their talents, while broadening their musical interests and performance skills.

All of our ensembles explore a rich variety of musical styles and ranges, from large concert ensembles to smaller, intimate performing groups.

Auditions are open to all McMaster students, irrespective of Faculty or Program and can be used for academic credit upon successful audition.

The tradition of theatrical performances stretches back over decades of McMaster History thrilling audiences with traditional and new and exciting forms of theatrical production. Today our theatre program calls our Lyons Family Studio, located in the L.R. Wilson Hall, home. Four black walls, flexible lighting and sophisticated audio/visual technology enable our directors, producers, actors, and instructors to put on theatrical performances like you’ve never seen before.

Honours Performance Series Learn more

Experience the product of the our students in the Honours Performance series. Created by students in the THTRFLM 4A06: Theatre, Performance and Society graduating class, the productions are a culmination of years of study and collaboration. Learn more about current and past performances.
