John Ford

For almost 30 years, John Ford has been active as a professional artist, lecturer, curatorial liaison, and international organizer.  His creative practice is not bound by specific discipline or cultural ideology, and he is committed to integrative creative practice and continual experiential learning.  This approach has allowed him to exhibit his work throughout the US, in Canada, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Italy, and Russia.  He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Ontario Arts Council Established Art Grant, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Individual Artist Grant, the Virginia Groot Foundation and Elizabeth Foundation Individual Artist Grants, and an Arts Midwest/NEA Fellowship.

John is also a devoted facilitator of learning, bringing the essence of his first-hand professional knowledge into the classroom, helping each student find their individual voice and unique body of work.  To see selected images of work done by McMaster students, please look at this virtual online catalog:
