The Joy Lapps Project (Cancelled)

Joy Lapps is a musician, composer and arts educator.  Her efficiency with the tenor pan and her diverse performance range have led to great audience receptions, and flattering recognition from seasoned professional pianists.  She has performed at various festivals including Toronto’s Afrofest, Muhtadi’s International Drumming Festival, Toronto’s TD Jazz Festival and Antigua’s Moods of Pan Festival.  As the leader of her quartet, the JOY LAPPS PROJECT, she often expands this formation to an even larger musical ensemble, exploring Afro and Latin-Caribbean Jazz, R&B and soul. Joy has released four recordings including and an EP of original compositions . With a Masters of Composition, she is currently focused on writing and arranging new music for her upcoming album.  During the academic year, Joy gives workshops and visits schools as an Ontario Arts Council Artist in Residence.
